Catchbox

Learning Spaces Technology have been experimenting with new ways to promote audience engagement in lecture theatres and with large groups. If you have ever been frustrated by how much time is wasted in conferences waiting for a microphone to be passed to the audience, this is the technology for you.  Instead of waiting for the microphone to be brought to the person asking a question it is now possible to throw a colourful, foam-covered microphone directly to them.  They can then in turn throw it to the next speaker. The new  ‘Catchbox’ microphone makes asking questions in large conferences and lectures more feasible and more fun.

Over the Summer 2017, some of the largest teaching spaces will be fitted with Catchbox.

For more information on how it works and where to find them, see here: http://www.teachingspaces.ed.ac.uk/training/catchbox/
